The aim of this study was to investigate the quality of published studies on women's empowerment in order to attract participation in urban development. Methodology: This cross-sectional study was conducted in 1399 with a search of articles published during the years 1990 to 2020. For this purpose, the keywords "participation", "women", "empowerment" or a combination of these words were searched. The search was conducted in the databases of Google Scholar, Science Direct, Jahad Daneshgahi, Magiran and Normags. 14 articles related to women's participation in urban development were selected and critically evaluated. The quality of articles was evaluated by CASP checklist and its items were classified into five areas. Findings: Out of 14 reviewed articles, only one article had all the desired features in the CASP checklist. 71.4% of the articles did not provide explanations in the criteria of the research subject. Only 25% answered yes to research project items. In the indicators of how to select participants, data collection and analysis and presentation of findings, 39.29, 45.25 and 47.62% compliance with the criteria of the CASP checklist were observed, respectively. Conclusion: Approximately 36% of the published articles in the field of women's empowerment in relation to critical evaluation criteria have shortcomings in justifying the research design, data collection and analysis tools and expressing the research methodology. }, URL = {http://womenresearch.ir/article-1-29-en.html}, eprint = {http://womenresearch.ir/article-1-29-en.pdf}, journal = {women empowerment and sustainable society}, doi = {}, year = {2020} }
